Interview: The North

 

Zak, The North are on a bit of a mini tour at the minute, how excited are you about that?

 

We're buzzing at the minute, just trying to better each gig. We’ve got a few new tunes coming out and it's nice to hear what people think of them live! They’ve gone down a treat!

 

Out of all the gigs coming up, which are you looking forward to most?

 

It's not a proper gig, but we're playing a live set that's streamed online and through some app on the 23rd of March in a studio in Manchester. It’s something different, so I can't wait for that!Gig-wise, on the 15th March we're playing at Plug supporting 'Modern Faces', along with Sheffield bands 'SSS' and 'Section 60'. Can't wait for that, it’s a massive line up and it will be a great night! Message us for tickets.

 

Is it always special to come back and play in Sheffield?

 

For me, it's just the same as any other gig. We just go out and smash it. But, it's nice to come back and see some familiar faces in the crowd, so yeah!

 

You played Propa Local at Plug on Valentine’s Day – how was the gig?

 

The gig was great, we had some good support bands too - The Bone Lab and Monoking. We had fans singing back the lyrics to us, which is ace! We loved it, they loved it. Can't ask for more!

 

Do you think Propa Local is a good way of displaying Sheffield’s unsigned talent to the people of Sheffield?

 

Yeah it's great, it’s only just started too so give it a few months to get recognised and it'll take off massively!

 

If you were able to pick three headline bands for a festival, who would you pick and why?

 

Ooh, that's hard! I'd have to go with 'Black Rebel Motorcycle Club', 'The Verve' and 'The Prodigy' as each day would end massively!!

 

What’s next for The North?

 

We're playing at The Royal Standard on Wednesday the 5th of March, tickets in hand for that so message us if you want any! We’re supporting Modern Faces at Plug on the 15th of March, we also have tickets for that!
